Engineering Manager Commerce

We have over 11 million users all over the world who have logged more than 10 million catches in our app. We’re growing rapidly, both in our social network and in the company, which is why we’re looking for an Engineering Manager of Commerce to join our pond. We hope that it’s you.

In the position as an Engineering Manager you report to the Director of Engineering.

Your work will involve:

• People manager - You are the reporting manager for the engineers in your team ensuring that your team members are developing, while also staying motivated and challenged.
• High-performing teams - You drive improvements in the cross-functional commerce product team towards high-performance. 
• Agile culture - You lead the quest towards fast learnings and high quality delivery using modern methodologies, since we strive to continuously improve and test new waters.
• Recruitment - You drive to expand and grow the Commerce team.
• Planning and execution - You work closely with the team’s product manager and designer to support the prioritization and alignment ensuring effective work processes and high quality. 
• Technical - You will be driving the technology in the team forward by coaching and mentoring the team members. We also expect you to be an active participant in the technical teams, we call them guilds, where strategic technical direction is discussed and planned.
• Innovation - Help to create a new social ecommerce experience for Fishbrain’s ever growing user community.
• Data - Define and analyze tech metrics that inform the success of your team’s work.
• Coding - We expect that there will be time to jump into the deep end of the pool with coding.

What we are fishing for: 

• Experience in building and maintaining an ecommerce platform on both back- and frontend from a technical and architectural perspective. Overall ecommerce experience is a strong plus.
• You don’t need to be a full stack developer, but you should have a solid understanding on how both front- and backend work and be able to contribute at least on one side also as a developer.
• Solid technical experience within our tech stacks with a good understanding of the necessary technology and development processes. We are currently working closely with a third-party marketplace backend system and the majority of our tech stack is hosted in AWS. Relevant frontend technologies include HTML, CSS, ReactJS, Typescript and GraphQL. Experience with a CMS is also beneficial.
• Very good understanding of agile methodologies and a demonstrable ability to drive innovation and execution through your team. 
• Experience in growing and leading a team of engineers towards high performance through honest and transparent communication, coaching and effective delegating.
• A servant leader enabling your team to take ownership of the company and its goals and to win as a team.
• Experience within fishing and the fishing industry is a plus.

This role is located in Stockholm.
